The first city in the Baltics to become part of the EBRD green Cities network, Vilnius has committed to developing a Green City Action Plan (GCAP) as part of a transition towards a greener future across all urban sectors. The GCAP will introduce a systematic approach to identify, prioritise and address the city’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania and the second largest city in the Baltic states joined EBRD Green Cities in 2023. Vilnius has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its well-preserved architectural heritage.
