The city recognises that a healthy environment is essential to ensuring that Batumi remains attractive to both citizens and tourists.
The GCAP will examine the sectors affecting environmental conditions, including transport, energy, industry, land use, waste and water. Based on this, actions and visions will be established to guide the city toward a green and sustainable future.

Batumi, the Black Sea resort and port city of Georgia, joined EBRD Green Cities in July 2018 with the aim of identifying, prioritising and developing interventions to address its environmental and sustainability challenges.
