EBRD is delighted to be co-hosting the EBRD Green Cities Leaders’ Roundtable from SPECA Region in partnership with the COP29 Presidency and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan at COP29.

The roundtable will bring together mayors and city leaders from the SPECA region, alongside prominent international partners, to discuss cities' vital role in addressing the global climate challenge. This roundtable will focus on sharing best practices, exploring financing solutions for climate action, and strengthening regional collaboration to achieve sustainable urban development. 

A key highlight of the session will be the signing of the Statement of Intent on the establishment of SPECA Forum of Climate Smart Cities. This initiative represents a critical step in fostering cooperation between cities in the region, driving innovative solutions, and addressing the urgent needs for climate resilience and sustainable urban infrastructure.
