Ankara Green City Action Plan: Second stakeholder consultations
Date: 25-28 April 2022
As a next step for the development of the Ankara Green City Action Plan (GCAP), local stakeholders will meet in a series of online sessions to prioritise the city’s most pressing environmental challenges.
The meetings will also be used to inform stakeholders about several reports that the consultants have been working on with the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and EBRD in the past few months, including a risk and vulnerability mapping, a smart maturity assessment and technical assessment completed for different sectors including transportation, water, waste, energy, buildings and biodiversity.
These online meetings are the second stakeholder consultation for the Ankara GCAP. In December 2021, stakeholders representing governmental and state organisations as well as civil society, academia and private sector associations, met to identify the key environmental challenges that Ankara is facing.
The Ankara GCAP will be prepared in line with Ankara's goal of “leaving a more liveable, nature-friendly and ecological urban legacy to future generations”. As a next step and to tackle the most pressing challenges related to climate change, concrete actions and policies will be developed – while being guided by a long-term vision and strategic goals.
