The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is pleased to host an event in Rabat on Thursday 5 September 2024. 

The conference will bring together city leaders from across Morocco, EBRD bankers and industry-leading climate and urban experts to share innovative and best-practice solutions for tackling water stress, financing climate action and leveraging digital technology to enhance urban resilience. Delegates will have the opportunity to hear from the city of Agadir, the first city to issue a municipal bond, who will share insights into key learnings from EBRD’s programs in Agadir, including the Green Cities Action Plan (GCAP) and the Financial and Operational Performance Improvement Programme (FOPIP). Delegates will also hear from the Guelmim Oued Noun Region, who are the first region to introduce a bilateral loan with an international finance institution in local currency. They will share their experiences delivering a blended concessional finance package.
