Maya Almog, Associate, EBRD Green Cities will speak on ‘The financing and procurement of Resilient and Smart Urban Projects’ panel at the Confederation of International Contractors’ Associations (CICA)’s autumn conference themed “Resilient Urbanisation and Smart Cities.”
The panel will focus on Financing and Procurement of Resilient and Smart Urban Projects, moderated by Fanny Dastugue, CICA General Director. The discussion will explore innovative financing mechanisms and transformative procurement to optimise value-for-money and reduce investment costs. It will emphasise life-cycle considerations, on-site monitoring, and strong technical preparation supported by capacity building. Key priorities include adopting innovative contractual and collaborative digital tools, using standardised certifications for resilient buildings, and selecting contractors based on quality rather than lowest cost. Other panelists include Jean-Jacques Verdeaux (World Bank), Shy Jackson (BCLP Law and NEC Contract Board), Monica Altamirano de Jong (UN ECLAC and ALTAMIRA Regenerative Finance), Prashant Kapoor (IFC, World Bank Group), and Christophe Dossarps (SOURCE platform).
The CICA conference on 21 November 2025 in Paris, “From Vision to Reality: Building Resilient and Dynamic Cities Together,” aims to tackle the key challenges of urban construction and promote resilience, inclusive housing, and early multi-stakeholder planning. It will share global concerns alongside regional experiences, showcase innovative projects, and draw lessons from past mistakes. The event also highlights the transformative role of procurement and financing policies while promoting best practices to prevent and resolve disputes in urban projects.
