GREEN CITIES

Cities play a key role in driving climate solutions. Being engines of innovation and flexible in implementation, cities are at the forefront of inventing smart and climate- friendly technologies and approaches. Cities are also developing innovative financing mechanism, including green bonds, sustainability linked loans, and public-private partnerships to fund climate investments at scale.

The EBRD Green Cities Mayors’ Meeting 2025 will unveil what it takes to build green, healthy, inclusive, and resilient cities and underscore why local action can be powerful in achieving global climate goals. The event, taking place in Istanbul, will also highlight the latest trends in financing local climate action for cities. You will hear from the Mayors and Green City Officers of EBRD Green Cities, finance providers, local communities, urban planners, as well as from technology leaders and private sector players.

This event builds on previous EBRD Green Cities events in London and Vienna, and we are excited to welcome you to Istanbul this time. Global goals, local leadership will take place from 15 to 16 April at the Istanbul Congress Center. This event is supported by the Green Climate Fund and the TaiwanBusiness – EBRD Technical Cooperation Fund and held in the City of Istanbul, a member of EBRD Green Cities.
