Gyumri
Back
Gyumri, the second-largest city in Armenia, joined EBRD Green Cities in September 2018.
Having long suffered from air and water pollution, the city aims to find ways to improve water, air and soil quality, upgrade transport services and infrastructure, and promote knowledge-sharing by working with international experts.
The GCAP is Gyumri’s flagship project to improve environmental quality and revitalise the urban landscape. Priority actions include a new public transport network operator model with integrated tariffs and ticketing, a residential building thermal modernisation programme, and the rehabilitation of the water supply system with the highest water leakages.
